This page explains in plain words what personal information LessonForged collects, why we need each item, and who sees it.

1. Who we are

LessonForged is a web application operated from Douala, Cameroon. You can reach us at support@lessonforged.com or through our contact page.

2. What we collect, and why

Name and email address — to create your account, show your name in the app, and send you the messages that make the service work: email verification, password reset, payment receipts, low-credit and security notices. We do not use your email for third-party advertising and we do not sell it.
Password — stored only as a one-way hash. We can never see it.
Google Sign-In (optional) — if you choose it, Google sends us your name, email and Google account ID so we can log you in. We never receive your Google password.
Teaching details you choose (country or curriculum, subject, class level, language) — to align lessons, exams and simulations with your syllabus.
Content you provide (topics, typed text, uploaded documents, photos taken with your camera) — sent to our AI provider only to generate the lesson, exam or simulation you asked for. Your lessons, exams and exports are stored in your account so you can open them again.
Voice — if you use the microphone (voice input or talking to the Lab Teacher), the audio is sent to be turned into text and is not kept by us afterwards. The microphone only starts when you tap the button.
Profile photo (optional) — shown on your account only.
Payment details — the mobile money number you pay from, the amount, status and time. Payments are handled by Fapshi with MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money. We never see or store your PIN or card numbers.
Usage and credits — which features you use and how many Forge Credits you spend, to run billing, prevent abuse and fix problems.
Technical data — IP address and browser information, used for login security (blocking repeated failed attempts), rate limits and security notices, and a small cookie for your language and for staying signed in.
Notifications (optional) — if you allow push notifications, your browser gives us a device address so we can tell you when a lesson, exam or video is ready. You can turn this off in your browser or in Settings.
Messages you send us (contact form, feedback) — so we can answer you and improve the product.

3. Who we share it with

OpenAI — the content of the lesson, exam or simulation request (and your voice clips when you use voice), to generate the result. We do not send your password, payment details or account email.
HeyGen — only the script of an AI presenter video that you choose to create.
Fapshi, MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money — amount and phone number, to process your payment.
Google — only if you use Continue with Google.
Our hosting provider — stores the data on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account, lessons and exams while your account is active. Items you delete stay in the Trash for 30 days and are then permanently removed. Exports in your Library are removed automatically after the retention period shown there. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days; we may keep payment records for as long as accounting rules require.

5. Your rights

You can see and edit your profile, change your password, turn on two-factor protection, and turn off notifications at any time. You can ask us, by email at support@lessonforged.com, for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions use secure HTTP-only cookies, all traffic uses HTTPS, forms are protected against forged requests, login attempts are rate-limited, and the administrator area is separate and protected. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

7. Children

LessonForged is made for teachers and for students aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use it with the agreement of a parent, guardian or school. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

8. Changes and contact

If we change this policy we update the date above, and for important changes we tell you in the app or by email. Questions: support@lessonforged.com.
